Butterfly Trust (Cystic Fibrosis)

The Butterfly Trust provides direct Social Support, in the community, for people affected by Cystic Fibrosis across the whole of Scotland. One of the services we offer is Befriending for children and young people who need additional support.
Support will provide space to talk about interests and worries, to explore their personal hopes and work towards achieving personal goals. The aim is to help enhance social skills, increase confidence, encourage motivation and build a positive lifestyle.
The services are provided by our trained volunteers who support people in their local community.

We are currently looking for volunteer befrienders across Scotland to offer support to young people living with Cystic Fibrosis.
The befriender meets the young person regularly, and provides time and space for the young person to explore their interests and concerns; share activities, encourage discussion and support them to achieve personal goals.
Befrienders are required to make a commitment of regular (weekly or fortnightly) meetings for at least a year,
