Bearwood Community Hub CIC

Bearwood Community Hub provides spaces in Bearwood, Smethwick, for local people to connect, collaborate and create. We have a weekly warm hub that is open to all to join for: free lunch, free shop, a chat, games, art and other activities.

Information for volunteers

We provide front-line, transformative, tailored services to the people, communities and organisations of Smethwick and Bearwood, including social activities, material support, and personal and professional development opportunities which address the poverty, insecurity and isolation that much of Smethwick faces. If you’d like to lend a few hours a week / month to help run projects, want to meet new people, share a skill you have or develop a new one then let us know! We have lots of roles we need regular support with as well as one off events. Regular roles include:
- Online communications - newsletters & socials
- Admin support
- Photographers and videographers (events)
- Playworkers
- Gardeners
- Friendly conversationalists & tea makers for our Wednesday Warm Welcome
- Kitchen support (Food hygiene training provided)
- Cleaners
- Translation/ Interpretation
- ESOL Assistants
- Free shop retail support - including selling second hand items on Vinted / Depop

We especially need support at the moment with:
- Warm Wednesdays (anytime between 10am & 5pm) - general hosts, free shop & kitchen support
- Grief Kind Space - A new project starting in September which is designed to be lead by volunteers who have experienced or are experiencing grief
