Omega, the National Association for End of Life Care

We help to keep people connected and living well in later life, particularly those over the age of 75 with life-limiting illness, those who are caregivers, those nearing the end of life, and those who are bereaved.

We prioritise the most socially isolated people who are struggling without supportive people around them and who can’t get the help they need elsewhere.

Our aim is to tackle social isolation and improve overall wellbeing through fully safeguarded befriending and support programmes that foster feelings of inclusion, build resilience and self-confidence, as well as offer peer support and access to activities, essential information and services. For our clients, we are a lifeline.

If you need support and advice, or are worried about someone you know, we’re here to help.

Information for volunteers

Join our very capable volunteers who give their time, skills and passion to keep people connected and living well in later life.

Volunteering gives you the satisfaction of knowing that you are making a difference. As well as helping people, volunteering has been shown to improve the wellbeing of volunteers too, and it’s a great way to gain new skills and experience, meet people and make new friends.

Our volunteers are from all walks of life and are aged from 19 years to 106. We couldn’t have such a positive impact on older people’s lives without them.

We offer a range of volunteering opportunities for you to choose from. No matter how much time you have to give or where you are based, there will be something that will suit you.
