Shetland Befriending Scheme

Shetland Befriending Scheme offers befriending on a 1:1 basis to children from aged 7 years, young people and adults aged 16+ years who need support to engage in the community in a positive capacity.

Information for volunteers

Volunteers must provide regular commitment either weekly or fortnightly for a few hours at a time over a minimum 6 month period. Volunteer are matched to a service user on a 1:1 basis to support them to engage in activities within their own local community.
