Bfriend (registered South Ayrshire Befriending Project)
Bfriend is based in Ayr and provides a befriending service for young people aged between 8 to 18 years old with social or emotional support needs, living within South Ayrshire.
Young people are supported by our volunteer Befrienders on a one to one basis, meeting up for a few hours every two weeks. Together they enjoy a range of activities from going to the cinema to visiting their local community centre. Group activities are also offered.
Our aim is to reduce the social isolation of the young person, increase their confidence and self esteem and to ensure they are included and feel valued.
Information for volunteers
All our volunteers receive training and are matched with their own designated Project Coordinator who will provide ongoing support, advice and guidance to them throughout their time with the charity. There is also the opportunity to attend further training sessions and occasional social events.
