BEFRIENDING FUND CLOSING MONDAY 6th FEB AT NOON AS OVERSUBSCRIBED: Befriending Benefits from Scottish Government Social Isolation and Loneliness (SIAL) Winter Funding
We are delighted to announce that we have been successful in securing a pot of funding from the Scottish Government's Social and Loneliness Winter Funding package that will be distributed to Befriending Networks members across Scotland providing much needed support during February and March 2023.
The quick access grant programme will share £41,000 among its members to enhance or expand their delivery during the months of February and March 2023.
- It is aimed at established befriending projects/services working with any one or more of the following groups: disabled people; young people aged 16 – 24, particularly young parents or carers; and people aged 75+.
- This funding could be used to meet rising volunteer expenses due to the cost of living crisis, provide groups or activities in warm spaces and/or including the provision of meals and any associated costs/salaries related to these extra activities.
- The application process opens today and invites Befriending Networks Scottish members to apply for a grant of between £500 - £2K, if they meet the above criteria.
Please note we have been overwhelmed by the number of applications received already therefore we are closing the fund to applications at Noon Monday 6th February.
All funded organisations would be required to complete a short report back on the impact of the funding and provide case study in April 2023, to enable Befriending Networks to report back to the Scottish Government on the impact of the fund.
