STAR Project

STAR Project is an award winning community organisation, delivering sustainable and positive social outcomes in the North End of Paisley and beyond. Established in 1999, employing a person centred approach we deliver group and individual supports consistent with local/national Strategy to build safer, more connected and resilient families and communities. Our Community Friends Befriending Scheme aims to provide volunteer befrienders to draw alongside individuals/families in the local community, offering both support and friendship. This support may be short or long-term in both in-person and digital formats .

Information for volunteers

We successfully deliver a consistent and varied programme of group and individual support to community members within Renfrewshire. All our work is robustly evaluated and monitored and feedback from our project users, partners and staff shape the development of everything we do. Our strong and creative team has a passion for the work of the Project and we believe this is fundamental to our continued success. Our unique wraparound way of working allows us to see the person, not a label, not a statistic, which ultimately makes people feel safe and accepted and ready to take a step towards realising their potential.

In return STAR offers:
• An initial in depth training programme & ongoing training & support
• Full induction
• Monthly group supervisions
