(Edinburgh) Matching: Creating a successful matching process and practices to support the achievement of outcomes

This module is designed to help build your knowledge and understanding of the importance of the matching process as well as to help you reflect on your own organisation and experience. In this module, participants will: 

  • Examine the incorporation of personal preferences into matching decisions
  • Choose key information required for sharing during the matching process
  • Categorise information which your organisation needs to gather from those involved
  • Evaluate the best means for storing information
  • Describe how matching decisions are made and communicated within the service
  • Identify the ideal match meeting for their service
  • Explain the support you give to new matches after the initial meeting
  • Predict how you can avoid making inappropriate matching decisions
  • Demonstrate what to do when matches go wrong
  • Propose good practice guidance in creating lasting and fulfilling matches

Accessibility and Refreshments: 

This event is hosted at Befriending Networks office in Edinburgh. Refreshments will be provided but please do bring your own lunch. There are many shops and cafes available in the area and on Shandwick Place. Please note, we do not have lift access and our office is based on the second floor. We apologise for this inconvenience.
