Together Co - Are a people-powered charity that creates connections to change all our lives for the better. You’ll find them working directly in Brighton and Hove. They’ve been supporting people to make life-changing connections for more than twenty years and they’ll keep doing so until everyone has someone they can count on.

Beverley joined Together Co as a telephone befriending volunteer for one of our longest service members, Silmore, while she completes her college studies.
She allocates an hour each week to her role, supporting Silmore by lending an ear when they talk.
She said: "I didn’t really know about Together Co or befriending until I saw an advert online, and I thought it might be nice to seek out and support someone locally.
“I’ve been speaking to Silmore for over a year now and it’s been great. He’s quite a chatty person – even if I’m not sure what to say, he starts a new conversation, has something to share, or asks me something about my life too.
“For me, volunteering works both ways – you’re not just offering a service because you get something in return. I always feel great after I’ve been on the phone to Silmore.
“I’m applying to study medicine in the future, and even though it’s not directly connected, I think that learning to work with people closely is an important part of it.”
