Befriending Networks supporting the community thanks to National Lottery funding

Befriending Networks successfully applied for 3 years' funding from The National Lottery Community Fund.

Sarah Van Putten, CEO at Befriending Networks, "Befriending Networks is the national intermediary organisation supporting befriending services across the UK.  We are delighted to have been awarded funding for 3 years from The National Lottery Community Fund in Wales.  This will enable us to provide a part time dedicated worker to support befriending organisations across Wales through training, resources and networking events, aiming to share and develop good practice in befriending.  This will also enable us to act as the voice of befriending in Wales and through working with Welsh organisation, help to inform and support policy and practice at a national level, that impacts on volunteers and those supported by befriending services.

We look forward to recruiting a new worker based in Wales in the coming months, who will help us to ensure our information and support is accessible and getting our key resources translated into Welsh. Thank you the National Lottery Community Fund and their players for their support, this development would not have been possible without this funding."
