Center for Developmentally Disabled

Center for Developmentally Disabled (CDD) has created a be-friending program for adults age 16+ who live with a developmental disability. Based on input from program management and families, staff will select individuals and invite them to complete a survey that includes information on their interests and the activities they want to do with a friend. The survey information will include how often they would like to meet with/talk to their friend. The agency Recreation Coordinator will oversee the program.

Information for volunteers

CDD will work closely with the volunteer manager to create a training for volunteer be-frienders. Be-friending pairs will be matched based on mutual interests, time and availability. Be-friending volunteers will complete training prior to being matched with a friend.
