Vision North Somerset

Service for individuals who have sight difficulties, are sight impaired or severely sight impaired and are facing social isolation. A befriending service which can improve self-esteem, build confidence, and have many more positive outcomes, with an overall improvement in wellbeing.

Information for volunteers

The home visit befriending service, is a free service, offered to service users who are socially isolated and restricted to their homes due to mobility or mental health restrictions. A volunteer will visit the service user in their home or contact the service by phone, on a weekly basis, at a regular time which is suitable for both parties, for a one-to-one conversation. They will be matched for various reasons such as, similar sense of humours, interests or hobbies, previous employment, or shared experiences.
