Active and In Touch Frome

Feelings of loneliness & isolation can be difficult to deal with. Sometimes we just need someone to help us meet other people and to reconnect with the community around us.

Need a little company? Wanting to try something new? Nervous of going somewhere new on your own? Active and in Touch Frome reaches out to
people of all ages over 18 who are isolated and lonely. Is that person you, a relative or a friend? If so, why not become a member and we can provide support, befriending, and practical help.

Once you have got in touch, our volunteer coordinator will arrange to see you, to discuss your needs, interests and understand a bit more about your circumstances. This will help us to see how best we can support you. Whatever your circumstances, we are here to help.

All befriending volunteers are carefully matched to
members with similar hobbies and interests. This fosters report immediately and helps people connect.

Information for volunteers

In a home near you someone sits alone all day, feeling isolated and unsupported. We need more volunteers to be there for your neighbour in need. Is that person you?

Could you spare some time to bring benefit to another person’s life? We
are not looking for huge commitment, just an hour every week.
We offer ongoing support and learning opportunities. Volunteering can
enhance your CV, job opportunities and enables you to meet and make
new friends.
