Trent and Dove Housing

A telephone befriending service for Trent and Dove Housing residents across Staffordshire, Derbyshire and Leicestershire. We know that everyone can feel lonely at times. Trent and Dove Befriending and Wellbeing Volunteers will ring residents to have a regular chat and enjoy the company and conversations that are created. An opportunity to learn about activities in your local community that might interest you, including support organisations if needed. The heart of the service is about connecting people with each other and their communities so that nobody feels alone.

Information for volunteers

An opportunity to give a little of your time to help people that are experiencing loneliness and social isolation. Can you imagine not seeing or speaking to another person for days on end? If you have some spare time, from as little as half an hour a week to as often as you would like to commit. Telephone befriending is about being a good listener, (whilst not sharing your own personal views). There is lots of support to help you do this role, we value our volunteer teams and give training, regular "catch up sessions" and a person to support you on your volunteering journey.
