Brunelcare's befriending service is designed to meet the needs of those we care for feeling the effects of isolation and loneliness. It was originally set up during the pandemic to provide companionship through a regular weekly chat over the phone but as restrictions ease we are happy to provide in person befriending. You will be matched with someone who shares similar interests and enjoys getting to know and spending time with you. benefit hugely from the much needed support and company you are able to give.
You agree the best time to meet or call with your befriender and we’ll keep in contact with you both to make sure that everyone is ok and benefiting.

Information for volunteers

Since the pandemic the rates of isolation and loneliness has increased with those who live independently with us and /or have had contact with our services.
If you enjoy a getting to know another person, are a good listener and have some time to spare, consider becoming a befriender! The time you are give will make a valued and valuable difference.
You will be matched carefully to ensure compatibility and maximum benefit.
