Vanik Council UK

Befriending service by Vanik Council provides regular social contact to lonely adults, social and religious care to people suffering long term illnesses, give support to and signpost people with mental health issues to the appropriate agencies.
• Who will benefit from this service? The whole Vanik community, which includes the Jain and Hindu, men and women in their homes and care homes, lonely adults, elderly, and adults living with family or alone. In addition to this, we intend to provide spiritual and religious provision for those Jain and Hindus who are sick. This includes those suffering with mental illnesses.

Information for volunteers

Vanik Council operates the Befriending service for lonely adults, sick people in their home or care home .
One of the aims of Vanik Council is
"To relieve sickness and financial hardship, promote and preserve good health and advance education within the Vanik community"
For this we need volunteers who are keen to provide this service to our members who are lonely, sick or suffering from mental health issues. All volunteers will be trained in Befriending service and will be supported by mentors.
