Minority ethnic people from Edinburgh and the Lothians who feel isolated, lonely, and needing help can receive LINKnet’s befriending service. Befrienders provide a listening ear, friendly help for day today choir planning and implementing, to make new contacts, take part in educational and cultural activities, move onto further developmental destinations, improve English language skills and assimilate into local Scottish society.

Volunteer work placements
LINKnet’s volunteer placement scheme is developed to help minority ethnic job seekers who do not have UK work experience to receive work experience which is a prerequisite for employment within UK. Volunteering opportunities are available, in office admin work, outreach work, fundraising work and mentoring. Volunteers are expected to work 5 to 6 hours per week (one day) for 4 months.
