Crossroads Care Surrey

Our amazing volunteers help us to support people across all areas of Surrey.
Our telephone befriending service is incredibly valuable to people who are feeling lonely and isolated at home.
A befriending call from a volunteer could last anything from 15 minutes to half an hour and will enable carers and people feeling lonely and isolated to benefit from friendly support, conversation, and someone to just check in on their wellbeing. Our volunteers are carefully matched to ensure they speak to someone with similar interests.
All our volunteers are very friendly and are DBS and reference checked and have all been given training.
Other Volunteer support we offer includes:
Companionship in the Home - We spend a few hours a week with someone who may be isolated and feeling lonely.
Community Support - We can Collect shopping and prescriptions for you if you are vulnerable.

Information for volunteers

Our volunteers are heroes who help to make a difference to the lives of those whole feel isolated or may be vulnerable.
Right now, we need volunteers to help people across all areas of Surrey and we have a variety of roles to suit your skills and the time you have available to offer. The volunteer roles we are currently looking to fill are to support with:
• Befriending by Phone - Telephone call people who are feeling lonely and isolated at home.
• Companionship in the Home - Spend a few hours a week with someone who is being cared for or is feeling isolated.
• Community Support - Collect shopping and prescriptions for the vulnerable.

All volunteers will be DBS and referenced checked and will be given training.

We truly appreciate the commitment every volunteer makes to help us support those who are vulnerable or are feeling isolated and help us to help maintain their health and well-being.
