If you, or someone close to you, is terminally ill, you might be finding it harder than ever to get the vital support you need right now and may be feeling lonely. We’re here for you during this time of uncertainty and isolation.
Check-in and Chat is our befriending call-back service where you’ll be matched with one of our volunteers. They will be able to give you ongoing support and be a friendly ear when you just need to talk.
Information for volunteers
We are looking for volunteers to join our team to check-in and chat with adults who are affected by a terminal illness. This could be those who are terminally ill themselves, their family, friends, carers or those who have been bereaved. This befriending role helps to support people who have contacted Marie Curie through our national telephone support line. As a Check-in and Chat volunteer you will be matched with an individual offering them emotional support and a chance to chat freely on a regular basis.
