In phase one, "The Village of Hope" befriending service, will provide an opportunity for Black African and Caribbean Elders and Single Parent families in North Manchester, to stay in touch with two befrienders working as a team on your behalf.
Through an agreement with your befrienders, one phone call per week can be made and one errand of your choice can be undertaken.
In other words, you're in control and we are looking to bring a smile not just to your face but also your heart.
We'll be a listening ear and a helping hand, so please register today and we will take care of the rest.

Information for volunteers
We are looking for volunteers who are dedicated, kind and compassionate, willing and ready to serve. Previous volunteering experience would be welcomed but if not; we would still be happy to speak with you as ongoing training will be given to support all our volunteers.
This service is directed towards Elders and Single Parent families from the Black African and Caribbean communities of North Manchester, particularly the twin communities of Cheetham Hill and Crumpsall.
Our befriending service will be delivered over the phone and all volunteers will work in pairs to undertake one agreed errand. We aim to provide a high quality, intelligent and caring service. If you can give up to one hour per week to support someone in need this role is for you.
