Warrington Voluntary Action
Helping people remain independent in their homes and communities, by enabling people to do as much for themselves as possible through the support of volunteers.
Focusing on people who would benefit from level support or befriending due to social isolation, experiencing social anxiety and who are pre-crisis and pre-frailty.
It is expected that the beneficiaries of the project will be predominantly, but not exclusively, older people.

Wider roles for the Good Neighbour volunteers will be:
• Walking Buddy
• Household tasks or gardening (tidy ups)
• Visiting and befriending
• Dog Walking
• Supporting people with technology to keep social connections
Befrienders will not offer specialist care or support plans, benefits or legal advice or carry out form filling. In these instances, the clients will be referred to the appropriate specialist e.g. Wellbeing Service, Citizens Advice via the Project Coordinator. Nor, will volunteers carry out skilled tasks that are appropriate for qualified tradespeople, or activities with an associated health and safety risk.
