Public Voice is a not for profit CIC which delivers a range of services in Haringey and other parts of London. We have recently won a contract to deliver a Community Navigator service to residents age 50+ in Haringey which will be delivered by eight Community Connectors supported by a team of trained volunteers based in the eight PCN localities. We are working in partnership with The Silverline national helpline for older people who will provide telephone befriending and building on the 30 telephone befrienders currently living in Haringey. Silverline is opening a base in our Haringey office for volunteers to staff the helpline. We will also offer a face to face short term befriending service as part of our brief intervention support for those residents who have had a crisis and need more support than just signposting
Information for volunteers
We currently have 43 volunteers who work with us on a range of projects including Healthwatch Haringey and some of them have expressed a wish to be telephone and face to face befrienders. We employ a volunteer coordinator to manage recruitment and training of new volunteers and ongoing training and support.
