Bishop Creighton House
Homeline is a free service in Hammersmith & Fulham for older, isolated people aged 60 plus. Homeline provides a telephone befriending service on a daily or weekly basis, visits from a volunteer for a social chat and help with practical tasks such as filling out forms, posting letters etc.
Homeline has a caseworker who can help out with other problems such as contacting medical and social services and putting you in touch with other support organisations, including BCH projects.
We run regular events for Homeline members, including lunches, IT and exercise classes.
Information for volunteers
Volunteer with us to enable isolated older people to renew social contact and access the things in life which we all need to stay happy - friendship, new opportunities, new learning, access to transport, access to better leisure, health and care services.
Volunteers help isolated older people through a range of support such as: daily telephone befriending to check people are safe and well; befriending an isolated person in their own home; providing companionship and support to someone who has just come home from hospital; or accompanying someone outdoors to assist them to remain independent in the community, and avoid becoming housebound.
