Age UK Leicester Shire & Rutland

We offer befriending services covering Leicester city, Leicestershire county and Rutland.
Befriending involves matching an older person with a volunteer befriender who will make a telephone call or social visit to their home on a regular basis. Befrienders offer friendly conversation and a listening ear. They can also support with attending social activities and getting out and about.
We provide short term support to increase people’s confidence to get involved in their local community. All of our volunteer befrienders undergo an enhanced DBS check and are required to provide satisfactory references as part of our recruitment process.
