Forres Area Community Trust
Forres Area Community Trust (FACT) was set up to make best use of the assets of the Forres area and to work out ways to overcome current challenges that face the community. FACT aims to support the development of facilities which enhance mental, social and physical well being. The befriending project provides support to older people to reduce social isolation and encourage participation in existing activities in the area.
Information for volunteers
The Cameron Project supports older people over the age of 50 to reduce their social isolation through one to one befriending and through existing activities. It also hosts activities in smaller groups as well as weekly gentle seated exercise classes. volunteers are always needed to support these activities through chatting with over a cuppa. Full training and support is given to all volunteers prior to one to one befriending. An opportunity to come along to an activity can give you a taster of what is involved in volunteering with FACT.
