Ballyhoura Rural Services (BRS) was established in 2010, we operate in East County Limerick and North Cork. Our aim is to assist individuals who are experiencing physical, social and emotional isolation. Our staff/volunteers offer a variety of levels and types of assistance and companionship to older people, ranging from one-on-one visits, assistance with shopping, accompanying on walks, & completing forms; we also advocate on behalf of clients. Information for volunteers

Ballyhoura Rural Services (BRS) was established in 2010, we operate in East County Limerick and North Cork. Our aim is to assist individuals who are experiencing physical, social and emotional isolation. Our staff/volunteers offer a variety of levels and types of assistance and companionship to older people, ranging from one-on-one visits, assistance with shopping, accompanying on walks, & completing forms; we also advocate on behalf of clients. All our staff/volunteers are Garda Vetted and full. Our Volunteers receive ongoing support, advice and guidance from our Volunteer Coordinator. Volunteers are asked to volunteer with BRS for one hour per week for a period of at least 6 months, they will be given a full induction prior to commencing their befriending role.
