The Living Well Project
The Living Well Project Befriending Service is based in Newhills, Aberdeen. We offer a befriending service for people in the Newhills/Bucksburn/Dyce/Bridge of Don/Kingswells areas for anyone aged 65 or over, who is socially isolated or lonely. Trained volunteer befrienders are matched with those referred and weekly visits/outings take place.
Referrals may be made by the health and social care sectors or families. People may also self-refer.
Information for volunteers
Our volunteers visit older people in their own homes, who are socially isolated and lonely. Volunteers usually visit for about an hour, for a chat, friendship, companionship, often a cuppa, and sometimes a game or short outing. All our volunteers receive regular training and supervision.
Please note that at the moment we are operating a telephone befriending service, while volunteers are unable to visit in person due to COVID-19.
