Food Train
Food Train offers a befriending service for people aged 65+ in Scotland, called Food Train Friends. We offer telephone befriending througout Scotland, plus 1-2-1 home visits with matched befrienders and group outings (in areas served by our Dumfries & Galloway, West Lothian and Falkirk branch offices only) for our members. Our service aims to reduce loneliness and social isolation in older people.
Information for volunteers
If you have an interest in supporting older people within your community by spending some time with them then please get in touch. Full training and ongoing support will be provided and certain out of pocket expenses are covered. Volunteer befriending is a great opportunity to experience personal growth while making a positive difference to the life of an older people in your area.
