Edinburgh Headway Group Carers Project

Edinburgh Headway Group Carers Project supports unpaid carers of adults with an acquired brain injury (ABI).

The project aims are to: make early contact with carers of people with an ABI; provide information, advice and support to carers; and recruit and train volunteers to provide 1:1 respite with the cared-for person for 2-3 hours a week.

Our 1:1 volunteer support provides valuable respite for a maximum of 1 year. Individuals with an ABI to be supported in the community for 2-3 hours a week with a trained volunteer must be aged 18 or over, and both live in the City of Edinburgh themselves and have a carer who also lives in the City of Edinburgh.
