The Careline

The Careline befriending service is aimed at alleviating the negative impacts of loneliness on mental and physical health and is therefore available to anyone who is feeling lonely, isolated, experiencing anxiety or has limited social contact.

Get in touch with us and we will match you with one of our trained befriending volunteers who will either meet you in person for a coffee and a chat or by telephone on agreed weekly basis to give a friendly listening ear.

The service is completely free and available to anyone who has been referred by a healthcare professional such as a doctor or nurse, or by a friend or colleague who is concerned about your wellbeing.

Information for volunteers

Are you be interested in befriending someone from the community who might be experiencing loneliness, anxiety or feeling low, especially due to Covid19, and need some encouragement?

If you can spare just 1 hour per week, we would like to hear from you.

Full training is provided including safeguarding, boundaries, and being a good befriender along with ongoing support and a dedicated manager.
