HANDS

Small local neighbouhood care group.
Providing shopping, transport, gardening, trips out, tea parties and a face to face and telephone befriending service to older people and those with a disability in the immediate locality.

Information for volunteers

We recruit volunteers from the local community. They come to us via the Borough's Council for Voluntary Services or word of mouth.
We offer them a training to befriend and match them with ladies and gentlemen who have made personal requests or have been referred by carers, relatives, Social services or NHS.
