About the courses

Befriending Network (Scotland) has identified core skills needed by befriending workers in 9 key areas. Each year each of these core skills will be covered in a half day training with the exception of Training the Trainer, which will be a full day course (The full course will therefore take 5 days to complete).

Members can chose to cover all 9 skills in a year, spread them over a number of years or just pick and choose the topics that interest them most. The notes and handouts that accompany each session will build up into a core skills handbook for workers.

Those who successfully complete all 9 sessions will be presented with a BNS Core Skills in Befriending certificate. The course is designed to be a comprehensive grounding for new workers and a refresher for more experienced workers.

Cost

'Training for Trainers' is £60 per delegate, and all the other Core Skills courses are £35 per person. You can book the entire course of nine sessions for the discounted price of £295 per person.
