Every year BNS have a client specific discussion and training day to allow befriending co-ordinators with a client group in common to get together and discuss the issues relating specifically to them. This year it is the turn of the mental health projects.
There is lots happening in the mental health field at the moment the "Towards a Mentally Flourishing Scotland" document outlines the Scottish Governments approach to mental health and wellbeing not just for those people effected by mental health problems but for the nation as a whole. How can befriending capitalise on the policy and aspirational statements in this document?
The theme of wellbeing seems to be prevalent at the moment and links strongly to the approaches of recovery and resilience, what are these different strands and how can befriending projects make use of them in their service delivery?
Lots of projects have been affected by Local Authority tendering processes and direct payments to clients can further cloud this picture.
This day is a chance for projects to get together to discuss these issues, develop understanding and learn from & support each other.
If befriending coordinators have other topics they would like to have discussed during this day, please let us know.
Cost
£70.00 per delegate for members (£75 for non-members).
