Befriender Diaries

Befriending diaries play many roles. They can provide insight into how befriending relationships develop over time – what's happened, what's been said, what hopes are starting to emerge and can be useful tools that reflect on all the small details that get lost over time, the details that are so important in making up a 'before' and 'after' picture. For some befrienders, diaries are an excellent way of freezing a moment to think through an event, a comment or an outing and for others, they form an important written account of their work experience.

Writing up befriending doesn't always come easily and we are really grateful to those befrienders who have shared their diaries with us on the site. As well as all the reasons above, they also offer a fascinating insight into what other people's matches and projects are like.
